Mary Wilson

Dr. Mary Wilson, originally from North Canton, Ohio, enjoys coaching as a teacher and mentor to the athletes.  Always athletic and involved in sports, Dr. Wilson took up running when she met her husband, Dr. Rick Wilson and enjoyed being a runner ever since.  Dr. Wilson served as the girls’ cross country coach at Salem High School (Salem, Ohio), leading the team to two back-to-back state championships.  Alongside her husband, Dr. Rick Wilson coaching the boys’ team, both teams took the top honors in 2005.  Dr. Mary Wilson was particularly influential in helping re-shape the girl’s program, leading them to a first-time trip to the state meet in which they won the championship title, and guiding them through a nearly undefeated season the following year with a repeat win at the state meet.  She and the Salem High School state champion teams are being inducted into the high school athletic hall of fame this fall.
