Box Score The Lions opened up Conference Carolinas play with a victory on the road at King. The Tornados jumped out to an early lead with their largest lead of the game being 14-6. The Lions clawed their way back into the game and it was back and forth the whole first half with 11 different lead changes. KJ Jones continued his dominant play by putting in 19 points in the first half, going 5-6 from the field and 9-10 from the free throw line to help propel the Lions to a 43-39 halftime lead.

The second half was much like the first half seeing both teams go back and forth. The Lions had their largest lead of the game by going up 71-59 with 6:00 minutes to go in the game. King made another late surge to tie things up at 81. KJ Jones II, Michael Wright and Kendall Latney all split on a pair of free throws to close out the game 84-81. Despite a cold night from the free throw and 3 point line the Lions found a way to come out with a conference road win.

Sophomore Guard, KJ Jones led the way for the Lions with 31 points going 8-10 from the field, 2-3 from the 3 point line, and 13-16 from the free throw line. He also added 4 rebounds. Senior Guard, Tyonn Stuckey, added 14 points going 6-8 from the free throw line, with a team high 4 assists to go along with 4 rebounds. Sophomore, Jayvion Rucker also added 14 points going 6-12 from the field and grabbed 5 rebounds. Freshman guard, Kendall Latney, had a team high in rebounds with 6 and chipped in 9 points.

The Lions will be back in action Tuesday, January 19th at home as they take on Erskine (0-1) at 7:30PM in another conference battle.
