Franklin Springs, GA --- The EC Women's swim team hosted the EC January Invitational, January 22, 2021. The lady lions finished second overall: UNC Pembroke (412) Emmanuel (382) Brenau (214) Point (77) Lagrange (4). 

The lady lions competed well, winning 3 out of the 7 events contested. Top 3 EC swimmers in each event included: In the 400 medley relay, the A relay (Valentina Aloisio, Julia Simioni, Natalie Hayes, Carmen Arnold) finished 2nd (4:05.26). The B relay (Zuzanna Malinowska, Aubrey Ortman, Paula Chenquer, Maria Diaz) finished 3rd (4:20.50). 

In the 500 free, Maria Diaz finished 3rd (5:44.52). In the 200 IM, Paula Chenquer finished 1st (2:10.87). In the 200 back, Valentina Aloisio finished 1st (2:11.36). In the 200 breast, Julia Simioni finished 1st (2:30.56). In the 200 fly, Paula Chenquer finished 2nd (2:12.07), Natalie Hayes 3rd (2:12.31). 

In the 400 free relay, the A relay (Aguiar, Davidson, Aloisio, Diaz) finished 2nd (3:47.56). 

With the 2nd place team finish, the lady lions move to 8-1 on the season. Next up, the lady lions host the Emmanuel Senior Day Winter Invite, January 23, 2021. GO LIONS!
