Jones and Stuckey Lead the Lions to Victory

Box Score Tigerville, SC - The Lions got off to a slow start against North Greenville, falling behind by as much as 12 points in the first half. Leading scorer in the conference, KJ Jones II, picked up 2 fouls early and was forced to sit for most of the first half. The Lions found a way to close the half strong and cut the deficit in half going into halftime trailing 48-42. 

The second half was a different story. The Lions outscored the Crusaders by 15 in the second half going up by as much as 10 in the second half. The Lions seemed to get better as the game went on. As a team, the Lions got to the free throw line 30 times connecting on 23 of those attempts (77%). They also assisted on 18 of there 30 buckets, Jones led the way with 7 assists. They also won the rebounding battle by 12 and grabbed 11 offensive rebounds, Jayvion Rucker and Kyler Ingram both had 6 a piece. The Lions came out on top 89-80 to push their conference record to 3-1. 
Two Lions scored over 20 points: 

Sophomore, KJ Jones II, led the way with 23 points. Going 11-12 from the charity stripe. He stuffed the stat sheet with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. 
Senior, Tyonn Stuckey, had 21 points, knocking down three 3 pointers. He went 8-9 from the free throw line. He chipped in 3 rebounds. 
Michael Wright added 11 points going 3-5 from deep. He also pulled down 4 rebounds. 
Brandon Simpson scored 10 points going 3-5 from the field and 4-6 from the line. Simpson grabbed 4 rebounds as well. 

The Lions outscored the Crusaders from the paint with an average percentage of 50.8% and from the free-throw line 76.7%. The Crusaders did outscore the Lions from the 3-point line with an average of 36.0% in comparison to the Lions 30.0%.

The Lions are back in action Friday at Chowan as they face them in a back-to-back Friday and Saturday in Murfreesboro, NC.
