Franklin Springs, GA - In their first home dual of the year the Lions opened up against a Conference Carolinas opponent and were defeated by Coker University 31-18. This will make them 0-1 in conference so far. 

At the 125, weight class Tyler Snowden narrowly defeated Brandon Dasen by a score of 10-7 giving the lions a 3-0 lead in the dual. 

At 133, Allen Stone gave a major decision 15-7 to Omar Armengol, making it a close dual of 3-4. 

At 144, Nick Voiles received a forfeit making the dual score 9-4. 

At 149, Dalton Flint got a quick pin coming 36 seconds into the match defeating Alex Miller and giving the Lions a 15-4 lead. 

At 165, Corey Christe got a tech fall 15-0 over Jonathan Oldknow tying the dual at 15-15. 

At 184, Markis Hill narrowly defeated Jordan Hall by a match score of 9-8 bringing the dual score to 18-21. 

Last to wrestle at 197 was Seth Bell who fell to Corey Perkins by a major decision of 11-2. This brought the dual to 18-25.

After all the matches finished, an exhibition matched happened between Hayden Snowdenand Devin Holland. Snowden defeated Holland on the 3rd period with a pin. 

The final dual score of the night was 18-31 to Coker. The Lions struggled to overcome giving up 3 forfeits for 18 points. The Lions will be back on the mat on Thursday, January 7, at 5 p.m. at UNC Pembroke.
