Medellin, Colombia - During the week of November 1st to November 7th, Emmanuel College Archers Rachel Reshonsky and Roger Hermosilla represented the United States of America in the World Ranking Event of the Americas and World Games Qualifier.

The tournament organized by World Archery Americas and the Colombian Archery National Federation was hosted in the Unidad Deportiva Belen/Andres Escobar with attendance above 100 shooters giving the chance to our shooters to share the shooting line with World Champions and Olympians. The tournament consisted of a 72 arrows qualification round at 70 meters for the recurve division and 50m for the compound division with their respective elimination matches. In the recurve female division, Reshonsky ranked 5th after the qualification and secured her spot in the quarter-finals for elimination rounds. Reshonsky leaded 2-0 in her elimination round against Valentina Contreras but the match had a turnaround in the third set which gave Contreras the win, and it left Reshonsky with a 7th overall position in her first international tournament. On the other hand, Hermosilla qualified 17th in the recurve men division pushing him into the 1/16 of final matches. In this case, Hermosilla faced Colombian Juan Echevarria. Hermosilla opened leading for 2-0, but after close sets, the match got to a 3-3 tie. Echevarria would take win 3-7 afterward leaving Hermosilla with the 17th position in his first outdoor tournament representing the U.S Team.

In addition, both shooters shot unofficial team rounds due to the lack of 3 member teams National Associations. In the recurve female side, Reshonsky joined Resident Athlete Olivia Martin and Junior Michelle Ahn to take the win for team events. Hermosilla was paired with Resident Athlete Josef Scarboro and Junior Oscar Martinez who lost in the bronze medal match after a judge's call in the shoot-off. Both Emmanuel College Athletes were the only U.S Team members who are active in the U.S Collegiate Divisions making Emmanuel College the only Top 6 school in the nation that was represented. Please join us in congratulating Roger Hermosilla and Rachel Reshonsky in representing Team USA.
