Box Score Franklin Springs, Ga—Emmanuel College Women's Basketball team takes on Less-McRae College Bobcats at Shaw Athletic Center.
The Lady Lions ended the game on top against the Bobcats, winning 71-50.
The Bobcats came out of the locker room strong, putting up the first 6 points of the game while Emmanuel remained at 0. The Lions got their heads in the game and quickly came back to obtain the lead, which they maintained for the remainder of the game.
The first quarter ended with an Emmanuel lead, obtained after 3 minutes, resulting in a score of 17-13. The Bobcats showcased an aggressive defense, matched by the Lions, making it tough for either team to run away with the score.
The second quarter was an even tougher battle for points as the Bobcats put up only 9 on the board and the Lions 12. Both teams continued to fight on the floor with aggressive defensive playing as the offenses fought to move the ball. The half ended with a Lion lead, 29-22.
The Bobcats were led by #5 Destiny Johnson with 18 total points, followed by #33 Aurora Roberts with 10. The Lions were led by #23
Breanna Locke also with 18 total points, #2
Jazmin Allen with 14, and #3
Mari Jonassen with 10.
Emmanuel came to the court ready to fight again after the half, putting up 19 points in the third quarter and 23 in the fourth. The Lions were able to display some strength from the bench and rotate the lineup throughout the second half.
