Box Score Emerson, GA - Emmanuel College Lions took the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Albany State University on Sunday. The game was tied at two with Emmanuel College Lions batting in the bottom of the sixth when Hunter Reeves singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Emmanuel College Lions pitchers struck out six, while Albany State University pitchers sat down 13.

Emmanuel College Lions pulled away for good with three runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Kyle Gaura singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Sam Stohrgrounded out, scoring one run.

Jake Denham was the winning pitcher for Emmanuel College Lions. The bulldog went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out three.  Ben Hudsonthrew four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Malik Barrington took the loss for Albany State University. The bulldog surrendered three runs on four hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 11 and walking one.

Emmanuel College Lions had five hits in the game.  Tony Matos and Hunter Reeves each managed multiple hits for Emmanuel College Lions .  Reeves and Matos each collected two hits to lead Emmanuel College Lions .

Albany State University totaled ten hits in the game.  Lachlan Ross and Chasen Roulhac all managed multiple hits for Albany State University.  Ross went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Albany State University in hits. Albany State University was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gavin Sloan made the most plays with 12.
