The Lions continued with their hot shooting to start the game going into halftime with a 41-29 lead, going 16 of 33 from the field (48.5%) and 8 of 17 from the field (47%). Of those 16 baskets the Lions assisted on 13 of them. Their largest lead was 19 points in the first half.Â
The second half was a different story as the Lions shot just 35% from the field and 25% from deep. Barton was able to storm back as they started the second half on a 17-4 run to take a 46-45 lead. That run was anchored by Isaiah Reddish of Barton who had a game high 22 points. However, despite shots not falling the Lions made timely buckets and got timely stops to stay at the top spot in conference standings

The Conference Carolinas leading scorer, KJ Jones II, had his tenth game where he reached at least 20 points. He put in 21 points and went a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line. He grabbed a team high 6 rebounds as well.Â
Senior guard, Tyonn Stuckey, had 15 points going 4 for 7 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Â
Sophomore forward, Jayvion Rucker, added 11 and 3 rebounds.Â
Senior guard, Brandon Simpson, stuffed the stat sheet with 8 points, a team high 6 assists and 4 rebounds.
The Lions will be looking for their fourth win of the week and their tenth in a row as they are back at home with a game versus Mount Olive at 5:30pm tomorrow evening, February 20, 2021. The Lions will also be celebrating Senior Night. Â
