Box Score Franklin Springs, GA - The Lions suffered their first loss in over a month. After battling to get four wins last week, the Lions came out sluggish in their final regular season game. Southern Wesleyan jumped out on the Lions and went into halftime with a 19-point lead. The Warriors were really hot from the field going into halftime shooting 50% from the field and 46% from deep. Demarcus Addie, the Warriors leading scorer, scored 19 of his 27 points in the first half. Offensively the Lions couldn't get much going shooting just 33% from the field and 35% from deep. The Warriors also dominated the glass which is a stat the Lions usually win. The Lions lost the rebound margin by 12.
The second half was a different story. The Lions out scored the Warriors by sixteen in the second half. They also held the Warriors to just 33% from the field and 25% from deep. The Lions showed a lot of fight forcing the Warriors into 11 second half turnovers. The Lions cut the lead to 4 points with eight minutes to go, but a few consecutive turnovers helped SWU stretch their lead back out. The Lions battled back and cut it to two points with just under two minutes to go. They fought back but came up just short after a missed three pointer on the final possession saw the Lions fall, 67-64.

Conference Carolinas leading scorer,
KJ Jones II, dropped 27 points and was 11 for 20 from the field. He also went 4 for 8 from beyond the arc. Jones also grabbed down 4 rebounds.
Junior forward,
Michael Wright, continued his dead eye shooting going 4 for 8 from beyond the arc for 12 points. Wright grabbed down 5 rebounds as well.
The Lions were named Conference Carolinas Regular Season Champions, so they will host the first round of the Conference Tournament next Monday, March 1, 2021. They will be the top-seed so they will face the 8 seed in the first round, which is still to be determined.
