Box Score Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College Tennis Team hosted the Limestone College Saints for the first home match of the season.
 
Determined to start the match the best way possible, the Lions worked hard in doubles play to capture the first point of the day.
On court #1 the duo composed by Wilfredo Lara & Kornel Kiamszewski played some great tennis with big serves and returns throughout the set to grab the first win in doubles. The Saints capture the win on court #2, so everything would be decided on #3. With good chances for both teams, EC finally had a match point on 5-2 but the Saints held their nerves to tie the set at 5-5. Without losing their hopes, Emmanuel broke the Saints, after the visitors committed a series of unforced errors, and with a great service game, EC earned the win and the doubles point.
 
With the match now 1-0 for Emmanuel and singles play in action, the Lions were looking for at least 3 more wins to conquer the overall win. Without any hesitation, the Senior from Madrid, Spain, Jorge Cañadas, gave EC the second win with a convincing 6-0 6-3 win on court #6. A moment later, another senior, Juan Carlos Romero, would put the Lions a step away from their first win of the season after a 6-3 6-4 win on court #4. Lastly, the Sophomore from Lima, Peru, Wilfredo Lara, came back from a 2-5 deficit in the first set to a 7-5 6-1 win, clinching the win for the Lions.
