Box Score Franklin Springs, Ga—The Emmanuel Women's Volleyball team took on Conference rival Barton College for the second time this season.
The first set of the five started with a roll by the Lions as they scored kill after kill to run away with a quick lead and win 25-16.
The second set was an intense battle, the two teams fighting for every point. For each point the Lions scored, the Bulldogs scored as well. Ultimately, the Bulldogs' 16 kills and Emmanuel errors resulted in a win for Barton, 27-25.
The third set showed a change of pace as the Bulldogs had a major run, scoring 5 points in a row, due to errors by the Lions. The Bulldogs used the Lion errors to their advantage and maintained the lead with their hitters leading the way with 9 kills in the set, ending 25-18.
However, the Lions were not going down without a fight and brought the heat in the fourth set after a beginning run of 8 points by Barton. #13
Alaina Emminger came in and seemingly turned the energy around for the Lions and they came back, winning the set 25-23.
Alaina Emminger had 7 kills during her time in the match, bringing up the energy on the court as the Lions battled for the victory.
The energy continued through the fifth and final set as the Lions took the lead through kills by #11
Mia Cotton and #3
Hallie Richardson. The Bulldogs were unable to keep up and ended up being defeated by the Lions in the final set 15-9, resulting in a match win for Emmanuel.

Gabrielle McGlameryhad an impressive 27 assists and setter #7
Jamie Clark had 21 to help lead the Lions to victory.
The Bulldogs were led by #6 Kaytlin Elkins with 19 kills, #1 Allison Gambill with 14 kills, #12 Caroline Schoonover with 13 kills, #4 Madison Greene with 17 defensive digs, and #2 Sarah Kirk with 14 digs.
