LIONS WINS CONFERENCE OPENER AGAINST BOBCATS

Franklin Springs, GA: The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team won their conference home opener against Lees-McRae, 18-11. The win brings the Lions record 3-2 overall, 1-0 in the conference. 

FIRST PERIOD

The Lions had a strong showing in the first half after two goals from Justin Parker started them off on top 2-0. The Bobcats responded with a goal, but the lions answered for every goal to maintain their lead. The lions end the first period with Alex Stull's goal and giving the Emmanuel lead at 4-2. 

SECOND PERIOD

Emmanuel continued their run in the second period, outscoring Bobcats 4-2 to lead 9-4 at halftime. Shamaz Durrant, Nolan Winter, Alan Velasquez, and Parker each recorded goals.

THIRD PERIOD

Emmanuel continued their momentum going and scored 4 goals within 7 minutes of playing. The Bobcats tried to fire back and went on a 4 goal streak. However, the Lions managed to break the goal streak and answered back with a goal from Alex Davis. The lions ended the third period 14-8. 

FOURTH PERIOD

EC once again started the period strong going on a 4 goal streak until the Bobcats answered back with 3 goals to end the game 18-11. 

The Lions ended the game with 5 goals from Justin Parker, 3 goals from Alex Stull, 2 goals from Shamaz Durrant, Allan Velasquez, Nolan Winter, Devon Roberts, and a goal each from Madison Phillips, Alex Davis, and Bakari Neely. #40 Ethan Brundage ended the night with 11 saves, #44 Matt Pesek had 3 saves, and #25 Philip Bell with 1 save. 

Next up, men's lacrosse continues action against North Greenville on Wednesday, March 24th at 4:00pm.
