Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel Softball team faced Augusta University for a double header, and resulted with the lions winning both games. 

Game 1 - Petty's Walk-Off Gives Emmanuel College Lions Victory Over Augusta University

A walk-off home run led Emmanuel College Lions past Augusta University 6-5. Emmanuel College Lions was down 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Isabelle Petty homered on a 1-1 count and 2 outs, scoring two runs. 

Augusta University opened up scoring in the second inning, when Jakayla Sullivan drew a walk, scoring one run. Then the Jaguars scored 2 runs each in the fourth and fifth inning. 

With 0-5 in the seventh inning, the Lions knew that they had to dig deep and score some runs. Kaylan Pruitt triples which gave the Lions the first score after Abbey Sims scored from the hit. After two Lions grounded out to the Jaguars. Coach Fagan made some last minute changes in the batting lineup, placing Sadie Worth and Jewels Ayers. Sadie Worth's single, allowed Kaylan Pruitt to score, which placed the Lions, 2-5. Jewels Ayers stepped up to the plate and walks, giving the lions 2 runners on base. The Jaguars changed their pitching lineup and Kya Santiago faced Katy Caldwell. Kya Santiago doubles to left field, letting Harder score and Ayers to advance to third. Ayers then scores on a wild pitch that put the Lions one run behind from the Jaguars.

Kaitlyn Pickens was in the pitcher's circle for Emmanuel College Lions . The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out four. Dani Fairey was relentless as the coming in pitcher and took the win for the Lions. 

Mary Tillman toed the rubber for Augusta University. Tillman surrendered four runs on five hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out ten. 

Emmanuel College Lions launched one home run on the day. Isabelle Petty went deep in the seventh inning.

Isabelle Petty led Emmanuel College Lions with two hits in four at bats.

Augusta University racked up eight hits.  Summer Frye and Olivia Biles all managed multiple hits for Augusta University.  Frye went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Augusta University in hits. Augusta University was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Aminah Wood made the most plays with nine.

Game 2 - Early Homerun from the Lions takes Victory over the Jaguars 

Emmanuel College Lions wins contest against Augusta University on Sunday, 4-2. The Lions fired up the offense in the first inning with Kya Santiago hitting a solo homer and Abbey Sims home run and scoring 2 runs. 

Sydney Blackmon led things off on the rubber for Emmanuel College Lions . The lefthander allowed two hits and two runs over six and a third innings, striking out five. Kaleigh Fowler finished off the game with 1 hit and a strikeout. 

Chloe Wilson was in the circle for Augusta University. The hurler surrendered four runs on five hits over six innings, striking out five.

The Lions hit two home runs on the day. Abbey Sims went for the long ball in the first inning. Kya Santiago went yard in the first inning.

Kya Santiago led Emmanuel College Lions with two hits in two at bats.

Augusta University didn't commit a single error in the field. Aminah Wood had the most chances in the field with five.
