Lions Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Mars Hill University

Box Score Franklin Springs, GA - Emmanuel College Lions snagged a late lead and defeated Mars Hill University 5-3 on Sunday. The game was tied at three with Emmanuel College Lions batting in the bottom of the seventh when Will Pittman singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Mars Hill University fired up the offense in the first inning.  Tyler Lala grounded out into a double play, scoring one run. In the top of the sixth inning, Mars Hill University tied things up at three when Hunter Holland homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Eli Turso pitched Emmanuel College Lions to victory. Eli Turso allowed two hits and two runs over two innings, walking zero.  Tyler Mayfield and Adam Biss entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Adam Biss recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Emmanuel College Lions .

Max Poole took the loss for Mars Hill University. Poole lasted two innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out one.

Jake Denham started the game for Emmanuel College Lions . The lefty allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven AJ Chacon started the game for Mars Hill University . The bulldog allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out eight

Emmanuel College Lions scattered ten hits in the game. Tony MatosDeMetrious FosterHunter Reeves, and Luke Patty all had multiple hits for Emmanuel College Lions.  Luke PattyHunter ReevesDeMetrious Foster, and Tony Matos each collected two hits to lead Emmanuel College Lions. Emmanuel College Lions was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Justin Henle made the most plays with nine.

The Lions will be back in action on Monday, April 12, for a doubleheader against Mars Hill with the first pitch at 1:00pm.
