Murfreesboro, NC - The Emmanuel College traveled to the home of the Chowan University Hawks today for another conference commitment.
The Lions were perfect throughout the day, starting with a clean sweep in doubles action. First, at #3 with Rodriguez / Burgos-Torres, who had no issues with a flawless 6-0 win. Next, Lara / Kiamszweski cliched the doubles point with a solid performance on #2 by 6-2. Lastly, the duo composed by Grosset / Sasaki found an early break at the beginning of the set to secure a 6-3 win.
In singles,
Javier Crespo did not find any trouble to take down his opponent today with a double 6-0 victory on court #5.
Wilfredo Lara, on court #2, had to work on his defensive skills at the begging of the first set before getting a lead and controlling the second set and, eventually, the match by 6-3 6-0. On court #3
Manav Sreekumar, was comfortably unloading forehands, putting his opponent on a defensive position from start to finish to close the match by 6-1 6-0. On court #1 Thembowake Makhanya faced a solid foe who was ready to go the distance, if needed, but the Lion found a pair of breaks due to the Hawk's unforced errors, and ended the match on top by a double 6-3. On court #4, Lucas Sasaki continues to play a very high level of tennis and quickly dispatched the hawk by 6-2 6-1. Lastly,
Munyaradzi Musanhu made his debut today in conference play in the best way possible. With powerful forehands from behind the line, Musanhu closed the door with an 8-1 win.
