Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College Tennis Team hosted the University of Mount Olive Trojan today on Senior Day.
 
Mount Olive was undefeated coming into the match this morning, but the Lions were ready for the difficult task ahead of them.
 
The Lions earned the doubles point today with a pair of wins at #2, with Lara / Kimaszewski by 6-4 and at #3, with Burgos-Torres / Rodriguez, by 6-3.
 
In Singles action, the challenge was even higher, with both teams looking to grab an early edge, but the Lions took the first bite with the Senior, Juan Carlos Romero going the distance after rallying but giving EC a second point by 3-6 7-5 6-3. The Freshman Manav Sreekumar continues his stellar season with another win today, also in 3-sets, now by 1-6 7-5 6-3. The clinching point came from the senior Jorge Cañadas, who dispatched his foe by a double 6-1. EC earned an additional win at #2 with Wilfredo Lara, who finished the regular season undefeated in league play, in a 3-set win by 6-3 5-7 6-4.
 
The Lions now turn their attention to the 2021 Conference Carolinas Tournament beginning next week. Emmanuel will be the #3 seed. EC will face the winner of #6 Lees McRae and #7 North Greenville.
