Box Score Mt. Pleasant, SC— Lions Baseball came up short in today's game against College of Charleston Cougars, losing 6-3. 

A great day for baseball with perfect weather and the weekend ahead. Lions baseball travelled to Mt. Pleasant South Carolina to take on College of Charleston at 2 p.m. 

The teams were evened out at 0-0 for the first five innings of the game, neither able to score as each defense held strong. 

#21 Jake Denham pitched a solid 4 innings for the Lions and #24 Ty Good pitched a long 6 innings for the Cougars. 

The Cougars  took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring 5 runs. The streak was set in motion by Lobeck with a single to centerfield. 

The Lions fought back in the top of the sixth, #4 Brandon Taylor scoring off of a wild pitch. 

Charleston came back and scored one more run in the seventh, on a single by #16 Tanner Steffy which allowed #10 Harrison Hawkins to run home. 

The Lions fought for the win in the eighth and scored two runs to tighten the score gap. #24 Justin Henle singled up the middle and #16 Dustin Frost came in as a pinch hitter and knocked a home run out to left field, resulting in the 2 RBI's. 

However, despite their best efforts, the Lions were not able to score more in the ninth in order to catch up or overtake Charleston and lost the game 6-3. 

Out of 36 at bats, Emmanuel had 6 hits which included a home run in today's game and Charleston had 10 hits with their 6 runs. Jake Denham started off pitching for the Lions against Ty Good for COFC, who was the winning pitcher today.
