Box Score Duncan, SC. -- The Cinderella story continued for the Emmanuel College Lady Lions as they squared off against the #2 seed Mount Olive Trojans in the Conference Carolinas Championship. The Lady Lions came in as the underdog, facing all the top seeds on the road to the Championship.
Emmanuel was up to bat first and Trojan pitching came in strong, with a 1,2,3 out. The starting pitcher for the Lions #21
Sydney Blackmon answered back with 2 strikeouts and a ground out from #23

In the top of the second inning, the Lady Lions were determined to score. Hogan started the Lady Lions off with a single into center field, followed by another single by Pruitt. #2
Abbey Sims would come out with a huge double into center field, scoring Hogan.
In the top of the third inning, #10
Kya Santiago would put the Lady Lions on base with a single up the middle. #1
Ally Harris kept it going for the Lady Lions with a single into left field. Hogan would then come out with a single to right field to earn one RBI and a run scored for the Lady Lions. An error enabled Harris to score extending the lead to 3-0.
The Lady Lions kept the momentum going into the fourth inning. #6
Noelle Petty started things off with a single. Top of the lineup batter, #13
Brighton Harder would follow it up with a single of her own, putting runners at first and second. Santiago would top it off with a fly into left field to bring Petty and Harder to home. The Lions were now up 5-0.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Lions were in danger as the Trojans were determined to comeback and score some runs. Blackmon and the rest of the Lady Lions stayed composed even with the bases full of Trojans. The Lady Lions ended the bottom of the sixth inning allowing no runs.
Bottom of the seventh inning with a 5-0 lead, the Lady Lions were 3 outs away to becoming Conference Carolinas Champions. Blackmon came out with a 1,2,3 out to secure the win for the Lady Lions! Blackmon finishes the inning with zero runs on one hit over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Brighton Harder and Kaitlin Pickens were named Conference Carolinas All-Tournament, and
Mackensie Hogan was named Most Valuable Player!
