Box Score Dahlonega, GA— The Lady Lions competed in the first round of the Southeast regional championship. The Lions were unable to defeat Young Harris with a score of 12-4.
The Lady Lions started strong, earning the first hit from
Brighton Harder in the first inning. The number three seed, Young Harris was determined to start well and scored six runs in the bottom of the second. The mountain lions would go in to score five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Lady Lions fought back, starting with a single from
Lily Shelton.
Brighton Harder would reach base on a fielder's choice, and Young Harris's error shortstop allowed the Lady Lions to have two bases.
Isabelle Petty looked to keep the hitting momentum going. Petty would hit a single to left field to bring Shelton home.
Ally Harris stepped into the plate and hits a single to Center field to load up the bases.
Abbey Sims eager to clear off the bases, would hit a double into left field to cut the deficit to 7 runs. A home run from the Mountain Lions would defeat the lady lions, 12-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Emmanuel falls into the loser bracket of the 2021 Southeast Regional Championships and will play an elimination game against fifth-seeded Tusculum University Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
If the Lions win, they will play the winner of game six on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
