Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College Men's Tennis Team hosted the visiting Southern Wesleyan Crusaders in the first match in league play.
Emmanuel was looking to earn the doubles point early in today's match and the plan came together with #2 Thembo Makhanya /
Javier Crespo leading the way with a 6-3 win, followed by #3 Juan Camilo Burgos /
Kornel Kimaszewski by 6-4.
In singles, The Lions earned 5 additional points today. First, on court #6
Joan Grosset dropped only one game to put EC with a two-point lead. On court #4 Hassan Badran extended the lead with a comeback from 4-0 down, winning 12 consecutive games, 6-4 6-0. The clinching match was on court #2, with
Nathan Benoit coming back from a set down, with a 4-6 6-2 6-1 win. The senior Thembo Makhanya had almost no issues to win in straight sets today by 6-2 6-3. Lastly,
Kornel Kimaszewski sealed the deal in a shorter set, by 8-3.
