Crusaders Top Lions with Hot Offense

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - The women's lacrosse team (6-4, 3-2 CC) hosted Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders' hot offense was tough for the Lions to slow down, resulting in a 23-7 victory for Belmont Abbey.

After the Crusaders scored the first goal of the day, Bailie Garland responded for the Lions. She scored twice over six minutes, giving Emmanuel a 2-1 advantage. However, BAC closed the first period on a 4-0 run to earn a 5-2 advantage after fifteen minutes. Justine Dorelas scored twice for the Lions in the second period, while Mickaela Davis also added one. But seven goals for the Crusaders gave them a 12-5 lead going into the half.

BAC scored six unanswered points in the third period as they pulled away out of Emmanuel's reach. Dorelas and Garland each scored for Emmanuel in the fourth, but the Crusaders found the net five times. This resulted in a final score of 23-7 as BAC captured the win.

Justine Dorelas and Bailie Garland finished with three goals each, leading the offensive production for Emmanuel.

Next up, women's lacrosse will head to Asheville to face Warren Wilson on Sunday, April 3rd at 2:00pm.
