FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Wrestling team hosted Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas dual on Wednesday in the Emmanuel Wrestling Center. The Lions overpowered Mount Olive, winning 8 of 10 matches to take a 39-11 victory. With the win, Emmanuel starts the season off at 1-0. 
 
The Lions won big at the 116lbs, with freshman, Karissa Turnwall defeating Mount Olive's, Emily  Fleckenstein, 5-0 via fall at :29.
 
At 123lbs, Emmanuel freshman, Makayla Correa earned a 5-0 win via fall at 2:58.
 
Sophomore, Isabella Hoffman won at the 130lb-weight class against Mount Olive's Ayonna McNeil (5-0) via fall at 3:48.
 
Sophomore, Gianna Anaya picked up a win via technical fall (18-7) at 136lb weight class, and sophomore, Aalijah Pineda, senior, Cristina Santoyo, freshman, Jocelyn Yepez and freshman, Journey Land each picked up 5-0 wins via fall to give the Lions a 39-11 victory!
 
Next up, the Lions will host the Georgia Open tomorrow in the Shaw Athletic Center!
