ANDERSON, SC - The Emmanuel women's lacrosse team faced the Anderson University Trojans on the road on Tuesday night. The Trojans defeated the Lions, 16-5. This moves Emmanuel's record to 1-5 on the season. 

Justine Dorelas scored Emmanuel's only two goals in the first half. The Trojans were explosive on offense, putting up nine goals and giving Anderson a seven goal advantage after 30 minutes of play, 9-2. 

Anna Gill quickly added another goal for the Lions to start the third quarter, pulling Emmanuel back within six. However, Anderson closed out the third with three consecutive goals to give them a 12-3 lead heading into the final quarter. 

Gill would add two more goals in the final 15 minutes, getting Emmanuel to five. But unfortunately it wasn't enough as Anderson once again outscored the Lions, adding four goals in the fourth quarter to make the final score Anderson 16, Emmanuel 5. 

Anna Gill finished with three goals, while Justine Dorelas ended the game with two. 

Next up, women's lacrosse will face Webber International on Thursday, March 9 at 12:00pm.
