AUGUSTA, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team traveled to Augusta, Ga. to face the Augusta University Jaguars in region play. The Lions got off to a strong start winning the doubles point, but Augusta bounced back to win 4 of 6 singles matches and take the match, 4-1.
DOUBLES PLAY –
- Emmanuel's #1 Doubles team Murilo Gracio and James Girdler fell to Augusta's David Perrett and Quentin Cano Perez, 6-4.
- Emmanuel's #2 Doubles team of Georg Stettler and Aleksander Simovski defeated Augusta's Enzo Garutti and Alexis Bailhache, 6-4.
- Emmanuel's #3 doubles team of Henrique Castro and Julio Lopes Polesi defeated Augusta's Herick Isago and Arthur Valette, 6-4.
SINGLES MATCHES –
- At #2 Singles, Emmanuel's James Girdler fell to Quentin Cano Perez of Augusta in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
- At #3 singles, Henrique Castro of Emmanuel fell to Herick Isago of Augusta in straight sets, 7-6, 6-1.
- At #5 singles, Aleksander Simovski of Emmanuel fell to Elie Azoulay of Augusta, 6-2, 7-5.
- At #6 singles, Emmanuel's Alejandro Gomez fell to Augusta's Arthur Valette in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
The #1 and #4 singles matches remained unfinished.
Next up, the Lions will travel to face Oxford College of Emory University tomorrow at 11AM.
