Florence, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team traveled to Florence, SC to take on Francis Marion for the Lion's first conference match of the season. The Patriots got off to a strong start, taking the doubles point and continued their momentum into singles play to take the match 5-0. With the loss, the Lions fall to 5-3 on the season and 0-1 in conference action.
 
DOUBLES PLAY: 

1. At #2 doubles, L. Sarasa/A. Vienna (FMU) def. Georg Stettler/Aleksander Simovski (EU) 7-5
2. At #3 doubles, H.Evans/P. Caro (FMU) def. Matheus Pimenta/Jose Calderon (EU) 6-3.

 
The #1 Doubles match between M. Barbera/L. Gonzalez (FMU) and Murilo Gracio/James Girdler (EU) remained unfinished.
 
SINGLES PLAY:

1. In the #1 singles match, M. Barbera (FMU) def. Murilo Gracio (EU) 7-6, 7-5
2. In the #2 singles match, H. Evans (FMU) def. James Girdler (EU) in a competitive three-set match, with Girdler taking the first set, 6-4 before dropping the final two sets, 6-3, 6-4. 
3. In the #4 singles match, B. Scott (FMU) def. Georg Stettler (EU) 6-3, 6-2.
4. In the #6 singles match, L. Carlson (FMU) def. Alejandro Gomez (EU) 6-4, 6-2. 

 
The #3 singles match and #5 singles match remained unfinished.
 
Next up the Lions will travel to face the University of Mount Olive tomorrow at 11AM.
