HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Emmanuel Lions Cross Country team traveled to Huntsville, AL this week to compete in the Southern Showdown hosted by Jacksonville State University. The Lions competed against several Division I teams, including Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Kentucky.  The Lions finished the race in 41^stplace out of 47 teams. 
 
Freshman, Kemarion Thomas led the way for the Lions in the 8000m with a time of 29:12.58 for a 355^th place finish. Fellow freshman, Zaylen Anderson finished in 362^nd with a time of 29:29.12 and Tyler Johnson finished just a few seconds behind him with a time of 29:35.49 for 369^th place.
 
The Lions finished with a total of 1258 points. 
 
Next up, the Lions will compete in the Converse Kick-off hosted by Converse University on September 21 at 9AM!
