TIGERVILLE, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team traveled to Tigerville, SC for their first conference match up of the fall season against the North Greenville Trailblazers. The Trailblazers took the early lead, winning the doubles point to go up 1-0, but the Lions roared back in singles play to earn the 5-2 victory. With the win, the Lions move to 1-0 on the season.

1. At #1 Doubles, L. Fletcher/J. Arbelaez (NG) def. James Girdler/Shumpei Kamiyama (EMMANUEL) 6-4. 
2. At #2 Doubles, M. Pavle/D. Roseler (NGU) def. Henrique Castro/Macros Llorens (EMMANUEL) 6-4.
3. At #3 Doubles, Murilo Martins/Matheus Pimenta (EMMANUEL) def. G. Pegoraro/W. Hernandez (NGU) 7-5.

SINGLES PLAY 

1. At #1 Singles, Murilo Martins (EMMANUEL) def. G. Pegoraro (NGU) 6-0, 6-0.
2. At #2 Singles, James Girdler (EMMANUEL) def. D. Roseler (NGU) 6-3, 6-2.
3. At #3 Singles, NGU's L. Fletcher won by opponent retirement. 
4. At #4 Singles, Aleksander Simovski (EMMANUEL) def. J. Arbelaez (NGU) 6-4, 6-3. 
5. At #5 Singles, Shumpei Kamiyama (EMMANUEL) def. W. Hernandez (NGU) in three sets winning the first, 6-1, falling in the second, 6-4 and taking the tiebreaker, 10-2. 
6. At #6 Singles, Matheus Pimenta (EMMANUEL) def. P. Markus (NGU) 6-4, 6-3. 

 
Next up, the Lions will host the Anderson University Trojans on October 22 at 2PM.
