CLEVELAND, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Tennis team traveled to Cleveland, GA to face the Truett McConnell University Bears yesterday. The Lions took an early lead, winning the doubles point. Emmanuel continued their momentum into singles play, winning 4 of 6 matches to win the match, 5-2! With the win, the Lions improve to 1-2 to wrap up the fall season.
DOUBLES PLAY
- At #1 Doubles, Anna Goncalves/Tawana Senah (EU) def. K. Stanfield/H. Davidson (TMU) 6-4.
- At #2 Doubles, Emma Auger/Franziska Wolter (EU) def. A. Benton/A. Johnson(TMU) 6-2.
- At #3 Doubles, Emmanuel lost via forfeit.
SINGLES PLAY
- At #1 Singles, Tawana Senah (EU) def. K. Stanfield (TMU) 6-0, 6-1.
- At #2 Singles, Anna Goncalves (EU) def. H. Davidson (TMU) 6-1, 6-0.
- At #3 Singles, Franziska Wolter (EU) def. A. Benton (TMU) 6-2, 6-2.
- At #4 Singles, Emma Auger (EU) def. A. Johnson (TMU) in three sets, winning the first 6-3, falling in set two, 6-4 and taking the tiebreaker, 1-0.
- At #5 and #6 Singles, the Bears won via withdraw.
Next, the Lions will face Georgia College & State University on January 30
th at 2PM.
