Murfreesboro, NC – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team traveled to Murfreesboro, NC to face Chowan University in conference action. The Hawks took the early lead earning the doubles point, but the Lions roared back to win 5 of 6 singles matches to earn the 5-2 win. With the win, the Lions improve to 8-9 overall and 5-2 in conference play.  James Girdler and Aleksander Simovski remain undefeated in conference singles play at 7-0. 

DOUBLES PLAY 

• At #1 doubles, James Girdler/Aleksander Simovski (EU) fell to T. Missan/M. Ungerboeck (CU) 6-2. 
• At #2 doubles, Henrique Castro/Marcos Llorens (EU) fell to E. Pshchelev/M. Kachuk (CU) 7-5. 
• At #3 doubles, Murilo Martins/Matheus Pimenta def. T. Sette/T. Sanchez (CU) 6-3. 

 
SINGLES PLAY 

• At #1 Singles, Murilo Martins (EU) def. M. Ungerboeck (CU) in three sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-0. 
• At #2 Singles, James Girdler (EU) def. E. Pshchelev (CU) 6-1, 6-1.
• At #3 Singles, Henrique Castro (EU) fell to T. Sette (CU) in three set. Castro took the first set, 7-6 then fell in the final two, 6-4, 1-0. 
• At #4 Singles, Aleksander Simovski (EU) def. T. Missan (CU) 6-3, 6-3. 
• At #5 Singles, Alejandro Gomez (EU) def. M. Kachuk (CU) 6-4, 6-2.
• At #6 Singles, Matheus Pimenta (EU) def. T. Sanchez (CU) 6-0, 6-3. 

The Lions will be back in action on Tuesday as they face Young Harris College at home. Play begins at 1PM.
