Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Wrestling team hosted King University tonight in a Senior Night dual. The Tornado took an early lead, winning the first two matches before Karissa Turnwall earned a win at 117 to put the Lions on the board. Janida Garcia earned a win at 131 lbs. and the Lions picked up two wins via forfeit, but the Tornado took home a 28-17 win. With the loss, the Lions move to 9-3 on the season, 5-1 in conference. 

HIGHLIGHTS

• Karissa Turnwall remains unbeaten at 117lbs, earning a win via tech fall against Avery Kibelbek (King) via tech fall (2:10).
• At 131 lbs., Janida Garcia (Emmanuel) def. Joy Cantu (King) by decision (4-2). 

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday as they host the Georgia Open at the Shaw Athletic Center. Action begins at 9AM.
