Franklin Springs, Ga – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team hosted Augusta University this afternoon in regional action. The Lions got off to a strong start earning the doubles point, but the Jaguars answered back to win 4 of 6 singles matches to earn the 4-3 victory. With the loss, the Lions fall to 3-2 on the season.

• At #1 Doubles, James Girdler/Shumpei Kamiyama (EU) def. H. Pinto/A. Carbonell (AU) 6-1.
• At #2 Doubles, Henrique Castro/Murilo Martins (EU) def. A. Valette/D. Perret (AU) 6-2. 

The #3 Doubles match did not finish.

SINGLES PLAY

• At #1 Singles, James Girdler (EU) def. A. Bailhache (AU) in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.
• At #2 Singles, Murilo Martins (EU) def. A. Valette (AU) 7-6, 6-2. 
• At #3 Singles, Henrique Castro (EU) fell to D. Perrett (AU) in straight sets, 7-6, 7-5.
• At #4 Singles, Aleksander Simovski (EU) fell to T. Matsumine (AU) in three sets. Simovski took the first set, 6-1 but fell in the final two sets, 6-4,6-4. 
• At #5 Singles, Shumpei Kamiyama (EU) fell to H. Pinto (AU) 6-4, 6-4.
• At #6 Singles, Matteo Hofstetter (EU) fell to E. Sakiyama (AU) 6-0, 6-2. 

The Lions will be back in action on February 14 as they travel to Dahlonega to take on the University of North Georgia at 2PM.
