Wilson, NC – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team traveled to Wilson, NC to face Barton College in conference action. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, taking the doubles point. Emmanuel would go onto win 5 of 6 singles matches to earn the 6-1 victory. With the win, the Lions move to 10-3 on the season, 4-0 in conference action.

DOUBLES PLAY

• At #1 Doubles, James Girdler/Shumpei Kamiyama (Emmanuel) def. N. Bottelberghs/F. Foss (Barton) 6-3.
• At #2 Doubles, Henrique Castro/Murilo Martins (Emmanuel) def. S. Maphosa/W. Drake (Barton) 6-2.
• At #3 Doubles, Aleksander Simovski/Marcos Llorens (Emmanuel) def. J. Starland/D. Rodriguez (Barton) 6-2.

SINGLES PLAY

• At #1 Singles, James Girdler (Emmanuel) fell to N. Bottelberghs (Barton) in three sets. Bottelberghs took set one, 6-2 but Girdler answered to win the second set, 6-1.  In the third set, Bottelberghs won the tiebreaker, 10-6. 
• At #2 Singles, Murilo Martins (Emmanuel) def. F. Foss (Barton) 6-2, 6-3. 
• At #3 Singles, Aleksander Simovski (Emmanuel) def. D. Rodriguez (Barton) 6-4, 6-0. 
• At #4 Singles, Henrique Castro (Emmanuel) def. William Drake (Barton) 6-1. 6-2.
• At #5 Singles, Shumpei Kamiyama (Emmanuel) def. J. Starland (Barton) 6-0, 6-1.
• At #6 Singles, Matheus Pimenta (Emmanuel) def. S. Maphosa (Barton) 6-2, 6-2.

The Lions will be back in action tomorrow as they face Chowan University in conference play at 11AM.
