Box Score SUMTER, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team traveled to Sumter, SC this week to compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship hosted at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
The Lions took the early lead, earning the doubles point and swept singles play winning at the 1, 2, and 4 to take the match, 4-0. With the win, the Lions will move onto the second round with a quarterfinal match against #4 seed, Young Harris tomorrow morning at 9AM. 
DOUBLES PLAY

1. At #1 Doubles, James Girdler/Shumpei Kamiyama (EU) def. M. Ungerboeck/T. Missan (Chowan) 6-4. 
2. At #2 Doubles, Henrique Castro/Murilo Martins (EU) def. T. Inoue/D. De Simon (Chowan) 6-3.
3. At #3 Doubles, Aleksander Simovski/Marcos Llorens (EU) fell to T. Sette/T. Sanchez (Chowan) 6-4. 

SINGLES PLAY

1. At #1 Singles, James Girdler (EU) def. M. Ungerboeck (Chowan) 6-2, 6-0. 
2. At #2 Singles, Murilo Martins (EU) def. T. Sette (Chowan) 6-0, 6-2. 
3. At #4 Singles, Henrique Castro (EU) def. T. Inoue (Chowan) 6-4, 6-4. 

The #3, #5, and #6 Singles matches remained unfinished because Emmanuel clinched the match, 4-0. 
Next, the Lions will face Young Harris at 9AM in the Conference Quarterfinals!
