Sumter, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Tennis team faced Young Harris College this morning in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals. The Lions took the early lead, winning the doubles point but lost 4 singles matches, with two going to three sets to lose, 4-3. With the loss, the Lions end the season 15-7 overall, 8-3 in conference action.

DOUBLES PLAY

• At #1 Doubles, James Girdler/Shumpei Kamiyama (EU) def. N. Pawirodirjo/S. Guzon (YHC) 6-3.
• At #2 Doubles, Murilo Martins/Henrique Castro (EU) def. G. Busquets/G. Williams (YHC) 6-4.
• At #3 Doubles, the match went unfinished because Emmanuel had secured the point. 

SINGLES PLAY

• At #1 Singles, James Girdler (EU) def. N. Pawirodirjo (YHC) 6-3, 6-3. 
• At #2 Singles, Murilo Martins (EU) fell to G. Busquets (YHC) 6-4, 6-4. 
• At #3 Singles, Aleksander Simovski (EU) fell to S. Guzon (YHC) in three sets. Guzon won set one, 6-4 but Simovski rallied to win the second set, 6-3. Guzon closed the match strong to earn the set three win, 6-4. 
• At #4 Singles, Henrique Castro (EU) def. M. Harmon (YHC) 6-3, 6-2. 
• At #5 Singles, Shumpei Kamiyama (EU) fell to G. Williams (YHC) 7-6, 6-3.
• At #6 Singles, Matteo Hofstetter (EU) fell to N. Vercruyssen (YHC) in three sets. Vercruyssen took set one, 7-6 before Hofstetter rallied to win set two, 6-4. Vercruyssen took the third set 6-1.
