HUDDLESTON, VA - The Emmanuel Swim team traveled to Huddleston, VA today to compete in the East Coast Open Water Festival. The Lions swam well, with multiple Lions ending the event with top10 finishes.
In the Women's 5K Open Water Race,
Eulalie Clech led the way, finishing in 1
st place with a time of 1:08.31.
Isabella Hernandez finished the race in 5
th with a time of 1:10.58.
On the Men's side, 5 Lions ended the 5K race with a top 10 finish.
Samuel Moeller finished 2
nd with a time of 1:00.51, with
Noah Pruwer finishing a second behind in 3
rd, with a time of 1:00.52.
Ahmed Abdalla finished in 4
th with a time of 1:01.38, while
Michael Medos placed 7
th with a time of 1:03.45. Lutz Freytag closed out the top Lions with an 8
th place finish and a time of 1:03.52.
The 5K awards were given in a variety of categories with Clech earning the Overall Female Award and Hernandez earning the 1
st place award for the 20-29 age group. On the Men's side,
Noah Pruwer earned the1st place award for the 16-19 age group, with
Samuel Moeller earning the top award for the 20-29 age group.
Lastly, the swimmers competed in the Great Knockout which consisted of three swims First, the swimmers would swim a 1500 meter swim, with the top 20 advancing. Next, the swimmers would advance to a 1000 meter with the top 10 advancing. Lastly, the swimmers would compete in a 500 meter race with the winner crowned.
On the Women's side,
Eulalie Clech finished 2
nd with a time of 5:43.
On the men's side,
Samuel Moeller finished 1
st , with
Noah Pruwer taking 2
nd and
Ahmed Abdalla taking 4
th.
