Originally from Commerce, Ga, Coach Terry Allen attended Clemson University where he played for the Tigers from 1987-1990, earning ACC Rookie of the Year honors.
In 1990, he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 9th round. In his second year with the team, he earned the starting running back role rushing for 1,201 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 49 passes for 478 yards and two scores. For four consecutive seasons (minus 1993 where he missed the season due to injury), Allen rushed for 1,000 yards or more.
Allen joined the Washington Redskins in 1995 and had great success. In the 1995 season, Allen amassed 1,309 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. In 1996, Allen had his best season yet, leading the NFL in touchdowns with 21 and rushing for 1,353 yards, earning him a spot in the 1996 Pro Bowl. He played for the Redskins for two more seasons, finishing his time in Washington in 1998. Allen finished out his career playing for the New England Patriots (1999), New Orleans Saints (2000) and Baltimore Ravens (2001) before retiring.
Following his pro career, Allen went back to Clemson to complete his degree and served as a student coach for the Tigers during their 2016 National Championship run.
In 2017, he moved into an Assistant Running Backs coach role with the Arizona Cardinals before heading back to Banks County where he served as the Graduation Coach and Running Backs Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the Leopards until being hired at Emmanuel.
