FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Emmanuel Lion's volleyball team is set to host their annual Dig Pink match this Friday (October 31) against the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan.

The Women's Volleyball team and the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) are teaming up for the Susan G. Komen organization to aid the fight against breast cancer. A portion of the gate fee and all donations collected will be donated to the fund.

The Susan G. Komen organization was founded in 1982 "to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering others, ensuring quality care for all and investing in science to find the cure." Susan G. Komen invests in research, community health, global outreach and advocacy, and hosts programs in more than 30 countries.

We will be honoring cancer survivors before the game, and the SAAC will be giving away free snacks and have face painting. Fans will also have chances to win pink prizes during the game.

"This is so important to our athletic department because it is our opportunity to reach out and contribute to a national cause that affects us all personally. Susan G. Komen and the NCAA have been partners for years. Our SAAC wanted to make sure that we are doing our part to raise awareness and contribute" Gail Wallach, SAAC Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Director for Academics had to say about the match.

The first serve is set for 7 PM in the Shaw Athletic Center.

Wear pink, and come support your Lions!
