HARTSVILLE, S.C.---Day 1 at the Coker College Invitational the Emmanuel College Men's Volleyball Lions faced Alderson Broadus and Mount Olive University.
Against Alderson Broadus, the Lions won in three sets (25-22, 25-17, 25-22). The Lions were led Ryck Webb with 16 kills, Jordan Funk 6 kills, Steven Peruyero 4 kills, Enrique Larach 29 assists, andRalph Rey 8 digs.
Later on in the day the Lions were to face the Conference Carolinas' powerhouse Mount Olive Trojans. The Lions fought hard against the Trojans but fell short in the fifth set of the match (25-13, 21-25, 22-25, 25-23, 6-15). The Lions were led by Ryck Webb with 22 kills, Alex Barbosa 11 kills, Enrique Larach 43 assists, Meshach McKnight 12 digs, and Steven Peruyero 7 blocks.
On the last day, the Lions faced the hosting team Coker College. The Lions swept the Cobras in three sets (25-14, 25-14, 25-21). The Lions were led by Ryck Webb with 14 kills and Steven Peruyero 8 kills both hitting over .700 Pct. Also, Alex Barbosa added 6 kills and Nikolas Nelson 4 kills and 4 blocks.
This tournament at Coker College concludes the regular season for the Lions and they will now head into the postseason tournament next week at Concordia University in Irvine, California to face Concordia University, Warner University, Hope International, and Johnson and Wales.
