IRVINE, Calif.---The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team went 1-1 on day one of the NAIA National Conference tournament being held in California.

The Lions are the No. 10 ranked team in the nation and faced California-based opponents on day one.

EC dropped their first match 0-3 to the No.1 ranked Concordia College team 21-25, 23-25, and 22-25. Ryck Webb (FR/St. Catherine, Jamaica) led the Lions with 11 kills while Enrique Larch dished out 31 assists.

Game two saw the Lions fall behind 0-2 before they stormed back to defeat Hope International 3-2. The game scores were 21-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-22, and 15-13. Again Webb led the team with 28 kills while Larch handed off 56 assists in the come-from-behind victory.

The Lions are back on the court Saturday at 10 a.m. as they face Johnson and Wales. The team then concludes the tournament at 4 p.m. versus Warner University on Saturday afternoon.
