Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3

Friday's match was against #2 ranked Southern Wesleyan University. The Warriors showed a dominate performance as they quickly took the lead every set and did not let up. Emmanuel's Erica Burnham delivered 11 kills, but it wasn't enough to hold off SWU. The scores were 25-13, 25-16, 25-16. The Lions hope to improve their efforts when they face SWU again Friday, Oct. 23.

Saturday consisted of two matches in Greenville, SC. The first match was against the host team North Greenville University. Emmanuel gave #3 ranked NGU a fight in the first set, keeping the score close until the 15th point. From there the Crusaders had a 5 point run that helped them pull out the first set 25-20. Set two looked better for Emmanuel as they kept it competitive the whole time, however, with 14 kills the lions just weren't able to take the set. NGU finished the match in the third set 25-19. The final scores were 25-20, 25-23, 25-19. The lions were led by Erica Burnham with 11 kills and Julie de Blanck with 10 kills.
Saturday ended with a win for the Lions. After a tough loss to NGU, Emmanuel refocused their efforts on Benedict. The first set didn't prove to be much of a challenge as Emmanuel only allowed Benedict to score 11 points. Set's two and three were much closer on the scoreboard, but Emmanuel finished them off in 3 sets. The final scores were 25-11, 25-22, 25-19. Emmanuel was led by Rachel Tolleson and Abby Bradford both with 9 kills.
Emmanuel continues competition this weekend with home games against Limestone and Converse. The first serve is set for Friday, Oct. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
