Box Score Wilson, NC- The Emmanuel College Soccer Lions faced off against conference Carolinas foe Barton College on Saturday morning.
In truth it was not the best showing from the soccer lions on Saturday afternoon. The Lions fell behind early as Marcus Strath's shot found the back of the net in the 7th minute. The Lions pushed to get back into the game but lacked quality in the final third of the field and subsequently fell further behind when Danny Peru slotted home in the 26th minute. The Lions went into the half trailing 2-0.
The Lions came out in the second half determined to get back into the game but struggled to create any real chances and the Bulldogs were able to see the game out and come away with the victory.
The defeat moves the Lions to 5-6-3 overall and they fall to 3-5-2 in conference play.
The soccer Lions return to action on Saturday as they face off against Mount Olive University at home with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
