Box Score Franklin Springs, GA - The Lady Lions continued competition Friday night against the Barton College Bulldogs. In their previous match, the Bulldogs defeated the Lions in 4.
Set one started well for the lions with a couple aces. It was a constant side out game until the 21st point. The Lions led the whole set until the Bulldogs were able to take the lead with just 2 points needed to take the set. The Lions showed heart and weren't discouraged, however fighting back to take the set 25-23.
Set two was filled with long rallies and huge kills. The scores were almost identical the entire length of the set until the Lions were able to take a 4 point lead, closing out the set 25-23.
Set three saw the Bulldogs fighting back to stay alive. Barton took an early lead and were able to maintain it most of the set. With a comfortable 6 point lead, it looked like the Bulldogs were going to breeze through the last few point. The Lions had different plans, showing that they wouldn't go down easily. Coming back from a 6 point deficit, the Lions scored 10 points compared to Barton's 1 point. The set was ended with a huge kill from EC's Julie DeBlanck.
