BELMONT, NC—The Lions fell to Belmont Abbey in three sets on Tuesday evening.

The Lions were ahead 22-21 for the end of the first set before Belmont Abbey responded with four unanswered points to win the first set 25-22. The Crusaders went on to win the following two sets 25-21 and 25-19.

Alex Barbosa put down 12 kills for the Lions. Nik Nelson added six kills with a .400 hitting percentage for the night. Meshach McKnight recorded 27 assists and seven digs. Barbosa and Steven Peruyero had two service aces. Stephen Diaz picked up nine digs, and Luke Fountain picked up eight. Nelson had three solo blocks.
