WILSON, NC. - The Emmanuel College Men's Soccer Team took on Conference foe Barton College for Saturday nights game.

About 20 minutes in to the game, Barton capitalized on the Lions with a quick give-and-go goal by Pol Monells (#11) to take the lead 1-0. After a few fouls on Emmanuel, Barton had a free kick and managed to score after a rebound off the defenders. The Lions were now facing a 2-0 deficit.

At 30:49, Nico Becker (#27) took a corner kick and Channing Park (#22) put the ball in the net to bring the score to 2-1 Barton.

In the second period, the Bulldogs scored again giving Pol Monells (#11) a hat-trick and widening the gap.

Emmanuel refused to go down without a fight. With under 2 minutes remaining, Martin Mitreski (#9) got the Lions their second goal of the night off of a corner kick from Blair Springhall (#11).

The game went to Barton with a final score of 3-2.

The Lions next match will be Wednesday, Oct. 18th at 6:00pm against USC Aiken.
