Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga – The Emmanuel Basketball Lady Lions took on King University in their last away game of the season but walked away down 59-72.
With the loss, the Lady Lions shot 71% from the free throw line and 32% from the field. The ladies were led by Taylor Delasbour with 14 points and, Freshman, Emily Dreslinski with 14 points.
The Lady Lions had an early lead on King, 8-5, but lost at the end of the first quarter to be down by five, 11-16. The ladies tried to push their way through King's defense. By halftime, Emmanuel was down 23-40. To start the third quarter, King fired off a three pointer. Taylor Delasbour was fouled at the three and made her three free shots. Lochlain Corliss had a solid steal in the fourth quarter that led way for Emily Dreslinski to make a layup. Emily Dreslinski had a steal right after allowing Avery Scarbrough to put up two. The Lady Lions were down 53-59 and were closing in. King took the game away with intense defense and back-to-back shots.
The Lady Lions now hold an overall record of 15-10, with a conference record of 10-9. They will be back at home on Friday, February 23rd in honor of Senior Night and will compete against Erskine College. This game will begin at 5:30 PM.
