Lady Lions Take Down King, 65-56.

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team added their fifth consecutive conference win to their record after defeating King University, 65-56 on Saturday afternoon. This win brings the Lions record to 13-5 overall, 8-3 conference.

Senior Lochlain Corliss led all players with 20 points and 9 rebounds while Senior Taylor Delasbour followed behind with 17 points and 9 rebounds. The Lions outshot the Tornado with a 47.5% conversion rate compared the King's 34.4%. The Lions also out-rebounded the Tornado 35 to 31.

Emmanuel found themselves trailing 28-21 at halftime before a solid third quarter performance. The Lions held the Tornado down to just 8 points in the quarter while putting down 20 points of their own to take the lead and change the momentum. The teams continued to battle it out in the fourth quarter with several more lead changes. Finally, with just under two minutes remaining, the Lions would go on a run. Sophomore Breanna Locke hit both of her free throws to break the tie before Corliss would further extend their lead with a three-pointer. Delasbour would follow up with two more successful shots from the free-throw line. One last layup from Corliss would conclude the Lions 9 point run and give them the victory, 65-56.

The ladies will continue conference play on Tuesday, January 29th with a game against Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina.
