FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team swept conference opponent Chowan University on Thursday night. This win brings the Lions record to 12-11 overall, 8-2 in Conference Carolinas.

The Lions grabbed a demanding lead in the first set when Senior Jessica Gray served 8 straight points to put the Lions up 17-8. The Hawks would attempt to battle back behind 5 kills from Anixa Rosa-Martinez. Despite the Lion lead lessening to 6, EC cruised to a 25-18 first set victory.

The Lions dominated set two while only allowing the Hawks 3 kills. Sophomore Mia Cotton put down 4 more kills to guide the Lions to a 25-14 victory. 

The final set was led by Sophomore Amanda Mazurkiewicz who put down a career high 6 kills. Junior transfer Jamie Clark helped the Lions grab a 25-20 victory with 11 assists.

Eight players combined for 48 kills in the Lions 3-0 sweep.

Women's volleyball continues action tomorrow at 7pm when they host Conference Opponent Barton College.
