Late Rally Puts Fleet Ahead of Lions

DUE WEST, S.C. - The #6 Emmanuel College men's soccer team took on #3 Erskine College in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon. Despite leading until the 85th minute of play, the Lions were defeated 2-1. 

Twenty-three minutes into the game, Senior Channing Park would score off of an assist from Freshman Harrison Wright to put the Lions ahead 1-0. As the game continued, EC weathered 19 shots from the Flying Fleet while Freshman goalkeeper Giuliano Palma picked up 10 saves. With less than five minutes left of play, EC was on top.

Things suddenly changed in the eighty-fifth minute when Erskine's Vincent Stulec tied up the game with a goal for the Fleet. Just three minutes later, Erskine's Sam James would score to steal the lead. The remaining two minutes would pass, giving Erskine the victory.

This loss concludes the season for Emmanuel men's soccer who finished with a 8-7-1 overall record and 4-4-1 conference record.
