Box Score WILSON, N.C. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team picked up their second conference win of the season against Barton College on Thursday night. This victory brings the Lions record to 5-5 overall, 2-0 in conference.
Junior Tyonn Stuckey started off the night with a quick shot from behind the arc. Sophomore Michael Wright followed with another three-pointer before Senior Emerson McClung drove in a layup. With a quick 8-0 lead, the Lions never looked back. EC would nearly double the Bulldogs in first half points as they shot 55.6% from the field. The Lions led 60-36 at halftime.
Barton improved their shooting in the second half and added to their 52 total rebounds to close in on the Lions. EC's accuracy fell to 36.7%, but Wright and Freshman K.J. Jones II would combine for 20 second half points to help keep the Lions on top. Despite being outscored 49 to 31 in the latter 20 minutes of play, EC maintained their lead and cruised to a 91-85 victory.
Tyonn Stuckey put up 17 points including four three-pointers all in the first half. Michael Wright also ended the night with a duplicate performance of 17 points including four three-pointers.
The Lions will continue action on Saturday, December 14th with another conference matchup at Mount Olive.
